In 2006 l purchased a primitive Holga camera and began this project. The camera changed my way of seeing. The camera’s unpredictability, its unrefined results forced me to be spontaneous, accidental and intuitive.
I compose personal narratives by shooting continuous frames on one strip of film. The Holga’s manual rewind allows me to produce multiple images without frames. The constructed images culminate in a cinematic journey of my own imagination.
I develop 120 film, then contact print it using the platinum/palladium process. I then scan the film to print large-scale archival pigment prints as well as enlarged platinum prints.
